what we're up against

These, along with a new study bible are what came in the mail today. I ordered them a week ago and it seemed like an eternity to get here. As you can see by the titles, this is what we're up against in our house. To say it's draining would be putting it lightly. As I write this our little strong-willed boy is upstairs screaming, fighting going to bed (it's 9:50pm and he goes to bed at 8:00pm). So, if you think about it we would sure appreciate your prayers.

I'm pretty confident we're going to be needing those books soon here, too... my 19 mo. old is showing all signs of joining this club. Will remember to pray for your family.

Remember in John 14:27 where Jesus says, Peace I leave with you, My own peace give I unto you,-- Not as the world gives, give I unto you:-- Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

After I meditated on that, I had within me that peace from Jesus. Later, I held an obstinate child and imparted that peace to her. She immediately became peaceful, amiable and sleepy.
I think maybe it's because children are the closest removed from being with God and they perceive that absence of His presence and it upsets them-- as it does us all.
By imparting Jesus' presence to that troubled child, they learn to access God's presence while on earth-- which comforts them.

Jesus conquers all. The challenge is to learn to live in the power of God while on earth.
I wish you the best.

Tanna, I came across your blog from Shannon's (well, I guess from Jenny and Claire too, haha!) and I think we have a lot in common! I have a 3 year old boy who sounds very similar to your little boy! He is the most strong-willed and independent child I have ever met and every day is a struggle to do anything with him! Bed time is nearly impossible and most nights it takes him at least an hour or two to fall asleep. I'm determined that he'll outgrow this phase (in order to keep my sanity) but it's so nice to know that we're not the only parents out there with a crazy little boy! :) I wish I had some wonderful advice for you, but we're in the thick of it too! We should keep in touch about our situations though if we come across anything that works! :)
